PistonsSasser Seizes Contract-Year Chance With 17-Point Debut
Sasser, acquired from Detroit in July and playing without a new deal after Monday's extension deadline passed, poured in 17 points in 24 minutes on 6-of-8 shooting and 4-of-5 from three in his first game as a Maverick, more threes than the entire rest of the roster combined (7-of-32). He scored alongside Irving and Flagg on the 18-5 run that closed the third quarter, though he was also on the floor for Houston's 23-8 second-quarter surge.
