After yet another struggling performance from Sergei Bobrovsky in which he was one of the main reasons the Toronto Maple Leafs fell to the Seattle Kraken. He continued his run of struggling performance with a performance against the Kraken of only making 12 saves on 17 shots. This leaves Leaf fans and the organization overall asking a lot of questions primarily of which all connected to the big free agent signing of this offseason who signed a 3 year $21 million dollar deal to join the Leafs.

The Toronto Maple Leafs need to take a real look and perhaps consider giving Bobrovsky some time to reset or sit with the extended struggles. That leaves a vacuum created of a lot of games to be played and it should give opportunity for young goalie and Calder Cup champion Artur Akhtyamov. While most would assume an extended run for Anthony Stolarz, given his inability to play for long stretches and his lack of durability an extended run for the young talented goalie in Akhtyamov is the best course of action to help reset Bobrovsky.

The organization has shown faith in Akthyamov in a multitude of ways, firstly moving off fellow young goalie in Dennis Hildeby in the trade that acquired Nick Paul for the Leafs. They also trusted and believed in him by not bringing in a veteran goalie in the spot of the third goalie and they have  quickly become willing to call him up and use him in backup roles to spell the two veterans.

With how much the Leafs goaltending has been struggling, it's time for a shakeup in the Leafs goaltending and the best course of action is a reset and tine to sit for Sergei Bobrovsky and see what you have in giving Artur Akhtyamov an extended run after a sterling playoff run with the Marlies last season and give a look to see what you have in a younger goaltender.
