Red Sox Said to Be Sending Nate Eaton to Athletics for Teen Arm

Boston is reportedly opening its offseason by sending utilityman Nate Eaton to the Athletics in exchange for 18-year-old rookie-ball right-hander Jareth Rayo, according to a source. Eaton hit just .160 with a .560 OPS in 24 big-league games but slashed .253/.338 with nine homers and 18 steals in 84 games at Triple-A Worcester, while the move would clear roughly a million dollars and a 40-man roster spot.
