Kucherov Tells Lightning He Wants Out

Nikita Kucherov informed his Tampa Bay teammates on Friday night that he wants out, and within the hour the Lightning general manager issued a statement saying the club has no intention of trading him. Kucherov reportedly turned down a four-year offer worth $15 million a year and is due to potentially double the $9.5 million he makes now. Tampa has just $2.78 million in cap space with five other players on $8 million or more.
