Ten Straight Missed Playoffs Pushed Larkin Out

Detroit has missed the playoffs in 10 straight seasons, and Detroit Hockey Now reported tension between Larkin and Steve Yzerman, who stepped down as GM in July. The Red Wings stripped Larkin of the captaincy before he rejoined the team on October 6th, and 10 games later he says he's done. Detroit sits 6-4-3, tied for last in the Atlantic.
