Red Wings Suspend Larkin Without Pay After He Refuses To Play

Detroit suspended captain Dylan Larkin without pay after he informed the club he will no longer play for the Red Wings, ending an 818-game run spent entirely in Detroit. The team said it is disappointed and will keep exploring trades, but any deal requires Larkin's approval. The standoff escalated from a trade-related scratch to a formal suspension in a single day.
