Schoen: Giants' Pre-Draft Work On J.J. McCarthy Paid Off In Trade

Giants general manager Joe Schoen explained that the team's extensive pre-draft research on J.J. McCarthy laid the groundwork for their eventual trade for the quarterback. He noted the payoff may not have come immediately or even in this year's draft, but that the diligence positioned New York to make a move down the road. The comments frame the Giants' scouting process as a long-term investment that is now bearing fruit.
