2027 NFL Draft QB Power Rankings: Who's Rising and Who's Falling?

If you had told me before the college football season began that a quarterback who never even started in high school would be the consensus QB1 at the midway point in the season, I would have thought you were nuts. Yet, here we are. Mestemaker continues to amaze NFL scouts and fans alike week in and week out, and although he is extremely raw, there is no denying that the potential is there. It is inevitable that a QB with the size and arm of Mestemaker would draw comparisons to the likes of Josh Allen, and although that is a steep hill to climb, Mestemaker isn't far off.

When a team is undefeated seven games into the season, the starting quarterback is bound to garner some draft buzz. When that quarterback has 22 touchdowns to just one interception and is averaging 307.3 passing yards per game, then he becomes impossible to ignore. Although Mensah doesn't have the strongest arm or as flashy a tape as the other QB's in this class, his production is there, and he continues to prove it week in and week out. Mensah has the prototypical size of an NFL QB, and if his production continues, it will be hard for QB-needy teams to pass on him come draft night.

Up until this week, Chambliss was my QB1, but after a poor performance against Texas, I decided to move him down. Chambliss has the best arm in the class, plain and simple. He is also 5'11 on a good day, which is a major red flag for NFL GMs. We have seen QB's with less-than-ideal measurables go early in drafts, such as Bryce Young and Russel Wilson, so it is possible that a team is able to look past Chambliss's height and weight and take him off the board early. As long as Chambliss continues to display NFL-level tape, he will remain in the first-round conversation.

If Arch Manning's name was Arch Smith - or anything other than Manning for that matter - there would be a good chance he isn't even close to being considered a first-round prospect. The truth is the team that selects Arch is getting more than just a young QB; they're getting a golden ticket. Jersey sales and merchandise aside, Manning has shown flashes of being a tremendous NFL QB, despite wildly inconsistent play. Is Arch Manning the can't-miss prospect we all hyped him up to be? No. Is he still capable of becoming a franchise QB in the NFL with more time and development? Absolutely.

Oh boy, where do I even begin? I have believed that LaNorris Sellers would be the number one overall pick in the NFL Draft ever since his freshman season, and now it's looking like that could be a real possibility. Sellers' escapability is like nothing I have ever seen before. It is genuinely impossible for opposing defensive linemen to bring him down. He is also 6'3 238 lbs, which will get him lots of recognition this draft season, regardless of how he throws the football. Sellers is far from a perfect prospect, and there is still plenty of room for growth in his game, but if he can clean things up down-to-down, he will be flying up the rankings in no time.
