🚨 CHARGERS NEWS! Today, Andrew McFarland breaks down The Athletic's new Chargers beat reporter Noah Furtado and his Reddit AMA from the bye week, where he rated the hot seats of Mike McDaniel and Jim Harbaugh, put Joe Hortiz on the hot seat, and split the blame for the Chargers' 0-6 start into percentages. It is the Chargers' first 0-6 start since 2000, according to the Associated Press.

Asked to rate the hot seats from 0 to 10, Furtado gave McDaniel a 5 and Harbaugh a 2. Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio also reported that the next move could be a separation from McDaniel. How long is McDaniel's leash? Does Harbaugh carry any of the blame for the McDaniel hire?

🏈 JOE HORTIZ AND THE ROSTER HOLES
Furtado said Hortiz should be on the hot seat if the Chargers win only 3 to 5 games after back-to-back 11-win seasons, pointing to the interior offensive line and the X receiver spot. A fan pushed back that three of the new free agents were McDaniel pickups. Who owns the offensive line problem, the coordinator or the general manager?

🏈 THE 60/25/10/3/2 BLAME SPLIT
Furtado put 60 percent on McDaniel, 25 percent on offensive personnel and Hortiz, 10 percent on Harbaugh, 3 percent on injuries and 2 percent on Herbert pressing. We test that against the Chargers' offense, which scores 15.0 points a game against a league median of 23.7. Herbert has a 30.1 QBR and 8 interceptions in 6 games. 🏈 SCHEME OR INJURIES?
Furtado says the injuries are not the root issue and points to pre-snap penalties and a new offense that changed Herbert's footwork and decision making. He also says the team is considering simplifying the offense. Is the Chargers' problem the scheme, the roster, or the injuries?
