Rapoport: Mendoza Unlikely To Start Until Raiders Fall Out Of Contention

Ian Rapoport reports the Raiders have no plans to play rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza anytime soon, with Kirk Cousins having played well enough that the team doesn't blame him for its losing streak. The original plan was always for Mendoza to sit and learn behind Cousins, and Rapoport says that has worked, with Mendoza reportedly lighting it up behind the scenes in practice. A Mendoza appearance would likely only come if Las Vegas falls out of playoff contention and attention turns to next season.
