Cowboys Coach Says Downs Is Not Playing The Spot They Want
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said Dallas is not using rookie safety Caleb Downs the way they want to, saying the design calls for him near the line of scrimmage. Despite playing 398 defensive snaps through six games and not leaving the field since Week 2, Downs has been at free safety, where he has allowed nine completions on 10 targets for 71 yards and a touchdown.
