Former Reds GM Floats Elly De La Cruz To Dodgers

Former Reds GM Jim Bowden said Cincinnati would absolutely consider an Elly De La Cruz deal and that it makes sense for both the Reds and Dodgers, though he never said the Reds are shopping him and nobody has reported contact between the clubs. De La Cruz, 24, hit 30 homers and stole 30 bases with a .880 OPS and 6.4 fWAR, and is projected to cost just $5 million in 2027. Bowden's bigger swing was actually a Nationals package for James Wood and CJ Abrams, with De La Cruz the fallback.
