Seattle Reunion Tabbed Best Value For Hernandez

Among four proposed Hernandez deals, a return to Seattle for right-hander Carlos Vargas is judged the strongest fit. The Mariners scored 664 runs, 28th in baseball, making them the most motivated buyer for a right-handed bat, while Vargas handled a 70-game workload as a rookie in 2025 and came back from a lat strain with 17 strikeouts and four walks in 19 innings. This is a proposed trade, not a reported one.
