Hellebuyck's Preferred Destination Was Florida, But Talks Did Not Progress

Elliotte Friedman reported that the Florida Panthers were Connor Hellebuyck's number one preferred destination, and that a Panthers package built around Evan Rodrigues, draft picks and possibly a goalie was discussed before talks did not progress. The hang-up, per the report, was Winnipeg's insistence on getting a goaltender back, something Florida's pitch did not include.
