Sharks Lose Chernyshov Long Term After Blocked Shot
San Jose's first regulation win of the season, 6-2 over Ottawa, came at a steep price as Igor Chernyshov left early after blocking a shot with his wrist and did not return. The host expects a long-term absence, comparing it to Jesperi Kotkaniemi's similar wrist injury years ago, and notes there was no update at the time of recording beyond word that it might take him a while to come back. Chernyshov's size and puck-carrying physicality on Will Smith's line will be hard to replace.
