Chargers Lose Derwin James Jr. To IR With Hamstring Setback

The Chargers have placed star safety Derwin James Jr. on injured reserve after a setback in his rehab from a hamstring injury, ruling him out of this week's matchup against the Rams. James has been the Swiss Army knife of the Chargers defense since being drafted, with 19 sacks and 12 interceptions across more than 100 career games. His absence opens up offensive game-planning opportunities for Sean McVay and the Rams.
