BREAKING Dallas Cowboys roster news! The Cowboys have made TWO OFFICIAL ROSTER MOVES ahead of their Week 8 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals! Dallas has ACTIVATED safety P.J. Locke from injured reserve and ELEVATED tight end James Mitchell from the practice squad! Jace Andrews breaks down the latest Cowboys news and rumors

On today's Cowboys Digest, we're breaking down the latest Dallas Cowboys roster moves, P.J. Locke's return from IR, James Mitchell's promotion, Luke Schoonmaker's injury concerns and what these changes mean for Brian Schottenheimer and the Cowboys against Arizona!

P.J. LOCKE IS BACK!

GOOD NEWS for the Cowboys defense! Veteran safety P.J. Locke has officially returned to Dallas' 53-man roster after missing several weeks with a foot injury. Locke suffered the injury against the Washington Commanders and has been working toward a return since opening his 21-day practice window.

Now he's officially ACTIVATED!

Could Locke provide a much-needed boost to Christian Parker's defense? With Jalen Thompson still on injured reserve and Dallas rotating players at safety, Locke's return gives the Cowboys more experience and depth in the secondary.

How will his return affect Malik Hooker, Caleb Downs, Markquese Bell and the Cowboys safety rotation?

PLUS, the Cowboys have ELEVATED tight end James Mitchell from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals!

Why did Dallas decide to bring Mitchell up?

Tight end Luke Schoonmaker is QUESTIONABLE with a groin injury after missing practice Thursday and Friday. Could Mitchell's elevation signal that Schoonmaker might be unable to play?

We discuss Mitchell's potential role, the Cowboys tight end depth chart, Jake Ferguson and how Brian Schottenheimer could adjust his offensive game plan if Dallas is missing another tight end.

AND what about Marist Liufau and Jonathan Bullard? Both defenders have been working toward returns from injured reserve, but Dallas has not activated either player yet.

With the Cowboys looking to build on their win over the Philadelphia Eagles, these roster moves could have a major impact on the team's Week 8 matchup!
