Giants Among Teams Scouting Japanese Pitching Duo
The San Francisco Giants are reportedly among the big league clubs who have scouted NPB pitchers Hiomiito and Ka Tyra, with at least 15 MLB teams thought to be evaluating the pair. Hiomiito was dominant in 2025, posting 14 wins, eight losses, a 2.52 ERA over 196 2/3 innings with 195 strikeouts, and took home NPB's equivalent of the Cy Young. He may not overpower hitters, but he has been a consistent mid-to-low threes ERA arm over at least 150 innings, and would bolster the back end of Buster Posey's rotation.
