Red Sox Offense Stalls: 87 Wins, Swept By Yankees

Boston scored 689 runs in 2026, 10th of 15 in the AL, with a .717 team OPS and 163 home runs, 12th in the league. The season ended at 87 wins, third in the AL East, and a two-game wild card sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees. The roster problem was never a shortage of outfielders but a surplus, Duran, Abreu, Ceddanne Rafaela, Roman Anthony and Masataka Yoshida all competing for time.
