Yankees Thinking About Skubal, Per ESPN's McDaniel

ESPN's Kylie McDaniel ranks Tarik Skubal atop the free agent class and reports the Yankees are thinking about signing him and then trading from their stockpile of arms to fill other holes. McDaniel projects an 8-year, $352 million deal, $44 million a year, which would top Max Scherzer's $43.3 million average and Yoshinobu Yamamoto's $325 million guarantee. McDaniel has the Dodgers and Mets as primary bidders, the Tigers monitoring for a discount, and the Cubs interested but skeptical on price.
