Chet Holmgren is the All-Star, All-NBA, All-Defensive big man for the Oklahoma City (OKC) Thunder. But while the young and promising Holmgren has faired extremely well against 28 NBA teams so far in his career, the San Antonio Spurs have had his number...namely Chet's arch-rival Victor Wembanyama. Wemby and the Spurs left Chet to soak in shame after Game 7 of the 2026 NBA Western Conference Finals, in which Holmgren scored just 4 points on 2 shots in the Thunder's season-ending loss. 142 days later, Chet got some sort of revenge: the Thunder grabbed the 116-104 win in San Antonio, highlighted by Chet asserting himself with aggression on both ends of the floor, while also holding Victor Wembanyama to the worst game of his career. Thunder Digest host Gabriel Ebersole breaks down Chet Holmgren & Victor Wembanyama's performances in the Thunder's 2026-27 season opening victory with stats and highlights, as well as going into the rivalry between Chet and Wemby...and how its trajectory has drastically shifted after the most recent matchup. #okcthunder #oklahomacitythunder #chetholmgren
